Odette’s Obituary
THIBODEAU, Odette M. – Age 56 of Meteghan. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Odette Marie Thibodeau on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Odette passed at home with her loving husband by her side. Born in Little Brook, she was a daughter of the late Emile and Corinne (Comeau) Thimot.
Odette married the love of her life, Joel, in August of 1993. They went on to have two wonderful boys who were her pride and joy. A proud hockey mom, you could often find her at the rink or helping out with a fundraiser. She loved every minute with her family, especially the time she spent with her grand-children, Leo and Nina.
As a teenager she worked at “Le Sub” in Little Brook and since then has been spending most of her free time in the kitchen. She loved cooking large suppers for friends and family and you could be sure there would always be a delicious dessert or two to follow the wonderful meal. Odette was known to bake delicious, and beautiful, cakes and even baked many over the years for birthdays and events.
One of Odette’s favourite things to do was going to the camper with her family and friends and sitting by the fire to drink her coffee. She spent many afternoons reading by the lake or kayaking in the early morning light. Her lake family meant so much to her and she looked forward to the next camping season as soon as Fall started.
Odette was a hairdresser for over 30 years. She started at Magicuts in Yarmouth after graduating from Cosmetology and later went on to have her own home salon where she met countless clients over the years and enjoyed making them happy. She loved her job and has always been thankful for the support that her clients have shown her over the years.
She is survived by her husband, Joel; her children, Roland (Julienne) and Julien; sister, Louisette (Bobby); brothers, Brian (Nadine), Ronald (Cindy); grandchildren, Leo and Nina; and her many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A public graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 11:00am, at the Stella Maris Cemetery in Meteghan Centre. Donations may be made to MS Canada.
The family would like to send their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the first responders who did their best to offer as much help as possible in our time of need.
