It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Leonard Faulkner on Sunday September 29, 2024 at the age of 87 years.
Born on March 3, 1937 in Leeville, Ontario, he and his family moved to Latchford in 1942 when he spent his youth. Norman eventually moved to Larder Lake in 1959. He was employed by Kerr Addison Gold Mines for 34 years from 1959 – 1993. He was the Head Assayer for 17 of those years from 1977 – 1993. He was very proud of his work at the mine. Norman was well known in Larder Lake for his dancing and softball abilities. Back in the day, he was an elite fastball player who would travel across Ontario for tournaments. He also loved to dance. Anytime a good country western song came on at the Larder Lake Hotel, he was the first on the dance floor showing off his moves. Norman always took pride in his appearance, ensuring he was impeccably dressed at all times.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anne and Robert Faulkner, brothers Laurence, Cameron, George and sister Mable Faulkner. He will be sadly missed by his numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Norman’s final care has been entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the Pioneer Cemetery, New Liskeard.
