Obituary of Norma Margaret Belyea (née Price)
It is with great sadness that the family of Norma Margaret Belyea (Price), loving wife of Norman Belyea, announce her passing on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 at home with her loved ones near.
Born July 8, 1943, in Toronto, Ontario, she was the youngest daughter of the late Joseph and Vera Price, she is also predeceased by her brother Bob Price (Bev), sons Scott (Patty), Dennis (Shannon) and granddaughter Chantelle (Dan).
Norma will be forever missed by her husband of 32 years, Norm Belyea; their children, Sean, Lori Ann, Terri-Lynn (Dave), grandchildren, Frazer, Andrew, Danielle, Derian, Dakota and great-granddaughter Tatiyanna. She is also survived by her sisters Ruth and Joy and many loving nieces and nephews.
Norma loved her family dearly and was always interested in their welfare. As anyone would tell you, she was the best grandmother. She loved to bake with her grandchildren as well as spend quality time with them. She proudly showed them off with pictures in her purse and on every wall of their home. Norma was very strong willed and independent, you never had to guess what was on her mind! She valued the true friendship of her many friends, Barb Anna, Di, Zelda, Jackie, Donna, Linda and Kathy to name a few and their fun visits and outings.
Norma and Norm never missed an opportunity to celebrate New Year’s Eve together, with a new adventure or two each year. Her and Norm’s greatest passion was travelling, which they did extensively by car, plane, ship, and train, yearly trips to visit family and friends in New Brunswick were always her favourite. They loved cruising, and to travel in their motor home, taking many trips to the Florida Keys when the kids were younger and across Canada and the USA. Later on, winters were spent at their place at Emerald Lakes in Florida where family and friends were always welcome.
Norma worked at many things over her career, an accountant, professional seamstress, office worker at Sears and Divilbus, but due to her love of all animals (Boxers especially) she finally found her perfect career in the 80’s as an animal groomer through training provided by her good friend Linda. Norma was a proud member of St. George’s Presbyterian Church and always enjoyed the services and fellowship hours afterwards with friends.
Norma had a green thumb and so enjoyed gardening in the shady backyard and watching a variety of beautiful birds at the numerous bird-feeders.
Many thanks to Dr. Parent, Dr. McGee, the staff at LHSC and Saint Elizabeth Health Care, and Rev. Keith McKee for their caring professional services. After a long, strong-willed battle with cancer, Norma is at peace with her Saviour, Scott, Dennis and Chantelle.
“I’m never far away; I’m always in your heart.”
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held at St. George’s Presbyterian Church, 1475 Dundas Street, London, Ontario, on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
Memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m.
For those who wish, a memorial donation in memory of Norma may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada, St. George’s Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements entrusted to Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario (519-433-6181).
