SPENCER, Norma….In memory of a loving sister and aunt, of Frankford, ON, Norma Eleanor Spencer (nee Close) passed away at Trent Valley Lodge, Trenton ON on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024 in her 89th year.
Norma was born in Toronto, ON on April 23,1935 to Earl Arthur and Elizabeth (Wilma) Close. Predeceased by her husband Denton Spencer (2000) and by her sister Gladys Wagg (1992). Cherished sister of Hazel Courtney and Vern Close, and fondly remembered by her extended family, including several nieces and nephews and their families. Norma and Denton were long time grocers, having owned and operated Spencer’s IGA in Frankford, ON for many years. Norma loved to sing, whether in a group or as a soloist at weddings.
Arrangements for a spring memorial service for Norma to be announced soon. Private interment service will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Frankford. Arrangements entrusted to Weaver Family Funeral Home, Trenton, ON. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Coalition for Seniors Mental Health would be gratefully accepted in Norma’s memory. Online condolences at www.weaverfuneralhomes.com
