It is with a deep sadness, missing his physical vessel, voice, laugh and chats, yet a glimmer of light, knowing he is reunited with his mom and dad whom he missed so deeply, the family announce the passing of our beloved dad, papa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Noel had started his 58th year of his earth walk. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed sports such as baseball and hockey, always looking forward to the Annual Family Hockey Tournament. Noel played defense for the Owl’s and loved cheering on his nephews and nieces on the Nashkawa team, even coaching, or so he thought. He enjoyed being a skilled carpenter and had a love for reading.
Noel’s family and friends witnessed how he lived the Grandfather Teachings over his lifetime. He showed Love; Zaagidwin by visiting with family and friends ensuring he replied, “I love you too” upon going separate ways. He showed Truth; Debwewin by being true to who he knew he could be or what he could do on any given day as he embraced Life. He loved and was true to his Montreal Canadiens, “Le Habs”. Bravery; Aakwa’ode’ewin he carried by being determined to live life in the present moment even though he carried the grief and deep loss of his parents. Noel lived Honesty; Gwekwaadziwin as he was “real”, he didn’t pretend to be someone or something he was not. He demonstrated Respect; Mnaadendimowin by treating family and friends with a gentle regard even though he may not have agreed with you. Humility; Dbaadendiziwin was shown by always asking how family and friends are doing, having a deep concern for their wellness and happiness. He put others before himself with compassion. By the words, “Hey, don’t do that” he shared Wisdom; Nbwaakaawin. Noel understood he had addictions and didn’t want any of his family and friends to follow that path.

Cherished Papa to Jade, Jamison, Arlo, Kieryn, Kam, Mavis and Ari.
Son of the late Wilfred and Christine Owl (nee Nashkawa) of Sagamok. Brother of the late Martin Nashkawa Sr. (Shirley), Mervyn Owl, the late Marilyn Buswah (late Bernard) all of Sagamok, the late Ernest Owl (Bernita) of Saugeen, Brian Owl, the late Timothy Owl, the late Joanne Owl, Edmund Owl, Roger Owl (Charlene) and Candace Mandamin (Don) all of Sagamok.
Special brother to Harold Bob and Ralph Toulouse.
Special Uncle and defense partner to Schtick (Derek Nashkawa).
Fondly remembered by godchildren Leon Bob and Noah Toulouse.
Will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by 34 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Wake services to commence on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 11:00 am at the EnjiWiijiGaabWitaadaying Agamik (New Community Hall) in Sagamok on Star Road.
Funeral Service to be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00 am at Pentecostal Church in Sagamok at 551 Sagamok Road with Peter Owl Sr. officiating.
Intermittent at Pentecostal Cemetery. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME Ltd, Espanola.
