Obituary of Nicole Sauvé
Peacefully at home and in her sleep on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023, Nicole Sauvé (nee Demers) of Ottawa formerly of Vankleek Hill, passed away at the age of 77. Nicole was the daughter of the late Omer and Laurence Demers (née Léger). Caring mother to Julie and Caroline (Richard) and doting grandmother to Jacob, Samuel, and Isabelle. Close sister to Michelle (Bodo) Schmidt as well as aunt to Stéfanie (Lorne) and Heidi (Sylvain).
Nicole dedicated her life to her work as a nurse in the region where she proudly cared for the community – from obstetric nurse in her early career all the way to leading long term care at Pleasant Rest. In retirement, she moved to Ottawa to be closer to her family and to better support her own health care.
Family and friends may visit at Hillcrest Funeral Home 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 1 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm in the funeral home.
In memory of Nicole, a donation to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or The Ottawa Civic Hospital would be appreciated. The family is grateful for the compassionate and thoughtful care offered to Nicole from both institutions over the years.
