Nicholas «Nick» Gordon Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and that we share the news of the untimely passing of our beloved Nicholas (Nick) on January 28th, 2024, at the age of 27. Nick was born in Selkirk, Manitoba on September 12, 1996. He was the youngest brother of a family of three boys. He enjoyed baking and cooking with his mom and also enjoyed working in the garden.
Nick lived in the Green Oak district near Beausejour for the majority of his early years. He enjoyed the country life and especially enjoyed quadding, fishing, and just being in the outdoors. He dreamt of some day building a cabin in the woods that he could call his own. After graduating from high school in Beausejour, he moved to Russell, Manitoba and took on a job working for Manitoba Highways. He took pride in his work and often worked long hours and extra shifts during holidays to make sure the roads were safe for people to travel on. He quickly learned how to drive the plow truck and sander and other heavy equipment. He was meticulous and kept his yard and house immaculate. Nick was a quiet person who enjoyed gardening, spending time with his cats, and going for drives. He had recently taken up woodworking and even built some furniture. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He would help his neighbours by cutting grass or doing other chores. He babysat dogs for others and helped anyone who asked him for assistance.
He was predeceased by his mother Nona Lashek, father Clark Gordon, stepfather Allen Lashek; and his grandparents – John and Hildagarda Karl, Pauline Lashek, and Emil Reskie.
He is survived by his brothers Murray and Aaron, his grandmother Gloria Gordon, many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and special friends Evelyn and Bill.
Rest in peace Nick, you will be in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. from Braendle-Bruce Funeral Chapel, Russell. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
