Neta Elizabeth
(Jodrey) Croft, 87 of Greenwich, formally of Greenfield, passed away
on Monday, June 3, 2024 with family by her side. She was a daughter of
the late Burton and Elizabeth (Brown) Jodrey. Neta came into the
nursing profession by chance, and it certainly suited her nurturing
and caring personality. She trained at the sanitorium in Kentville and
then spent most of her nursing career at the EKM Hospital. After
«retiring» many times, she worked in various
doctors’ offices in Wolfville and Port Williams. After she
finally retired, she continued to give to others by knitting preemie
baby hats and mittens and water bottle holders for chemo patients. Her
latest project was knitting numerous lap blankets for radiation and
cancer patients. She is survived by daughters, Maria-Jane (Dwayne)
Croft, Hants Border; and Marlena (Paul) Walker, Halifax; son, Matthew
(Darlene), Greenfield; four grandchildren who were the light of her
life, Nicholas and Samantha (Caleb) Croft, Aidan and Colum Walker;
several nieces and nephews; sister, Jean Power, Sackville; brother,
Burnard, Truro; sister-in-law, Charlotte Croft, Greenfield, and
brother-in-law, Wayne Wagner, Kentville. Neta was predeceased by her
husband of 61 years, Malcolm «Mickey» Croft; brothers, David
and Donald; sister, Hope Wagner, brother-in-law, William Power,
sister-in-law Gladys Jodrey. The family would like to thank her
doctors in Halifax and her palliative care from the amazing staff at
the Valley Hospice as well as a very special thank you to Dr. Barbara
Ross. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by
request. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on
Saturday, June 15, 2024 in the Gaspereau Baptist Church, Pastor Ben
Davidson and Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A private family
interment will be held in the Gaspereau Cemetery immediately following
the service. For those unable to attend the service, a video webcast
of the service will be available on Sunday, June 16th. Family flowers
only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to The
Lodge That Gives, Halifax or Valley Hospice, Kentville. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
