Nell Margaret Pratt
May 14, 1928 – July 2, 2023
Suddenly on Sunday July 2, 2023 ,at the Milton District Hospital at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife of the late Robert Pratt. Loving mother of Eileen MacArthur and her husband Brian. Dear grandmother of Robert MacArthur and his wife Leigh and great grandmother to Chloe and Quinn MacArthur. Nell was predeceased by her parents Adam and Meg Giulianotti and her brother Albert Giulianotti. Born in Peterhead, Scotland, she never regretted moving with her family to make a home in Canada.
Nell loved life and had a very kind, loving and generous nature. She was totally dedicated to her family and was over the moon when she became a grandmother and then a great grandmother. She loved her son-in-law as the son she never had and would never have asked for a better or lovelier granddaughter-in-law. Many weeks and months were spent travelling and she especially loved the South of France.
She gave her daughter the most amazing hugs and they shared many happy hours enjoying favourite movies, while scarfing massive amounts of chocolate and chips; they also shared an enduring love of the great “American Songbook”. Nell loved to have a little dance and despite some mobility challenges was did just that a few days before the end of her life.
She will be missed by her family as well as her sister-in-law, many nieces and nephews and the friends who became her extended family.
Friends are invited to visit McKersie & Early funeral Home, 114 Main St. E., Milton, on Friday July 7th, 2023 from 9:30-11:30 am. The funeral service will then begin at 11:30 am. A light reception will follow the chapel service. Private interment services will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, in Toronto. As an expression sympathy, memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society – Halton or Dementia Society of Canada.
