In Loving Memory of Nataliya Dounets (1953–2024)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Nataliya Dounets, who left us peacefully at her home on December 8. Born on July 21, 1953, in Ternopil, Ukraine, Nataliya came to Canada in 1993 to forge a new life filled with opportunity, warmth, and the enduring bonds of family.
A devoted wife to Evgeni, a loving mother to Oksana (Volodymyr) and Irena (Roman), and a cherished grandmother to Daniel, Katherine, Matthew, and Mark, Nataliya’s family was always at the center of her world. She embraced her role with unwavering grace, nurturing those she loved with kindness, encouragement, and heartfelt devotion.
Nataliya’s creativity and generous spirit were evident in the simple, beautiful moments she created every day. She delighted in cultivating vibrant gardens, preparing comforting meals that brought everyone to the table, and expressing her heritage through her intricate embroidery. With each blooming flower, shared recipe, and carefully stitched thread, she passed down treasured traditions that will live on through the generations.
Beyond her home, Nataliya touched countless lives through her warmth, friendship, and understanding. She offered a compassionate ear, wise counsel, and a gentle hand to anyone who needed it, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of all who knew her.
Though we grieve her loss, we find comfort in the enduring legacy of love, beauty, and generosity that she leaves behind. Nataliya will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always cherished.
