Obituary of Nardina Inneo
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonarda (Nardina) Inneo surrounded by her loving family in her 90th year. Nardina was predeceased by her loving husband Biase Inneo (1992). Cherished mother of Domenic (Jenny), Maria (Brent), Columba (Peter) and Pat (Brenda).
She will be sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren: Julia (Caleb), Adrianna, Sara, Michelle, Thomas, Lucas, Ryan, Jordan, Nigel, Erin, Averi, Sydney and her 2 great-grandchildren: Blaze and Zoe.
Dear sister of Michele Demeo (late Maria Antoinetta), and her siblings in Italy, late Giovanni Demeo (Filomena), Concetta Fanizza (late VIto) and Lina Losurdo (late Gerardo). Dear sister-in-law of Michael Inneo (late Carolyn), Jane Inneo (late John) and late Father Anthony Inneo. Treasured by many nieces, nephews, friends and her special neighbours of many years. Nardina was born in Sant’ Agata di Puglia in Italy and moved to Canada in 1959 as a young woman and she and her husband started their family and worked hard to provide for them.
Nardina was the matriarch of the family. After her husband’s passing and with a strong Catholic faith, she persevered with life and carried on many family traditions. Her family was her life, and we will all miss our Sunday meals and special gatherings with her. She was an excellent cook and gardener, and we were all blessed by her selfless, optimistic, generous spirit and example.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL Home, Cremation and Reception Centre 827 Main Street., Welland, on Sunday, January 15th, between 2-4 and 6-8pm. Vigil prayers will be at 7:45 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St Andrew’s Apostle Roman Catholic Church on Monday, January 16th, at 11a.m. with interment to follow at Pleasantview Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Andrew Apostle Catholic Church or the St. Vincent de Paul Society (Welland), would be appreciated by the family.
