Obituary
Nancy passed away suddenly at Ottawa Civic Hospital, on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023. Born on December 31, 1951 in Owen Sound, Nancy Ann Wood (nee Locke) of Owen Sound, was in her 72nd year.
Dearly loved wife and best friend of Allen Wood for almost 50 years (August 11, 1973). Loving mother of Jason Wood (Aimée) of Ottawa and Lindsay MacDonald (Colin) of Toronto. Proud grandmother of Violet & Oscar Wood and Hazel & Nora MacDonald. Dear sister of Mary Frook (Ken) of Owen Sound, Donald Locke of Wiarton and sister-in-law of Margaret Plant (George) of Silver City, New Mexico. Nancy will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Lorne & Eleanor Locke and her parents-in-law Oliver & Marjorie Wood.
Nancy touched the hearts of many with her zest for life, golf, curling and bridge. Her laughter will echo through the fairways and greens, the ice and the card tables forever.
A Visitation for Nancy will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492 on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service for Nancy Wood will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 865 2nd Ave W, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ed Hoekstra officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce or St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Owen Sound would be appreciated. Condolences can be sent to Nancy’s family by visiting her memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca.
