SHANK, Nancy (September 28, 1938-May 28, 2024)
Daughter of the late Herbert Prior and the late Ruth Prior (nee Erskine). Loving wife of Bernard (Ben) Shank. Dear mother of Elizabeth Greenberg (Roger), the late Louise Shank, Catherine Sloan (Jeff) and Lisa Britten (Tim). She will be missed by her six grandchildren, Kelly, Kathleen (Alex), Heather (Chris), David (Kaya), Alyssa and Ethan (Dana), who loved her dearly, as well as by her great grandchildren Taz and Teil. Loving sister of the late Wilma, Sandra and Judith, and stepsister to the late Margaret, the late Dorothy, and the late Helen.
On Tuesday May 28, 2024, at the age of 85, Nancy Ruth Shank (nee Prior) surrounded by her family slipped peacefully into the arms of her husband Ben Shank and daughter Louise Shank. Nancy lived her life to the fullest surrounding everyone she knew with her love and her energy. Nancy was a retired nurse, avid quilter and stitcher and everyday angel to so many. The family is grateful to her neighbours who loved her and looked out for her as if she were their own. They gave Nancy some of the happiest years in her home in the valley making it possible for her to remain there up until a year ago. We would also like to thank the HSN staff in the Emergency Unit, CMU and Dr. Abu Shama for the extraordinary care, love, kindness and respect they showed our mother. Always in our hearts mom (Nan).
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
