It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend Myrtle Braithwaite-Simon, who left us on October 21, 2024, at the age of 82 at her home in LaSalle, Ontario, Canada.
Born and raised in Georgetown, Guyana, Myrtle’s journey took her to England before she ultimately made her home in LaSalle, Ontario, Canada.
She was the loving wife of Rupert Simon and the late George Braithwaite Sr. (2004).
Myrtle is survived by her cherished sons, George Hamilton (Zoe) and Craig Alexander (Julie), as well as her dearest grandchildren, Harper and Louise. She was a devoted sister to Shirley, Esmie and Evelyn, whose bond she treasured deeply. Aunt to Rodwell, Kenneth, Simon, Myrtle, Barbara, Cohen who are all devastated by this loss.
To our friends and family, thank you for your kind words and support during this exceptionally difficult time.
Your phone calls and messages continue to provide us with strength as we remember Myrtle – an extraordinary woman who touched the hearts of many.
If you so desire, memorial donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Her memory will forever live on in the lives she inspired, her faith in the Lord, and the love that she shared with the world.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 9 am until the time of the Celebration of her Life at 10 am at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor (519-969-5841).
