Obituary of Muriel Hislop
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Muriel Christene Hislop on Wednesday October 11th 2023 at the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit New Glasgow, after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.
Muriel was born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Dan Hale and Dene Hale-Wadden (Bachelor).
Muriel spent her working life at Wear Well Garments. She loved watching her favorite hockey team the Montreal Canadiens ( especially when playing Toronto Maple Leafs, Wayne’s team for a quarter bet ), playing crib, and watching tv with her furry friend Max at her home in Salt Springs.
Muriel had a great love for each her grandchildren; Laura Lee (Nathan), Michael (Julie), Ryan (Amanda), Matthew (Patrica), Kaitlynn (Ethan), Alex, Brianna, and her great grandchildren Caoimhelee, Deaglan-Thomas, Fianna-Elise, Keela, Foster, Rhys, Hazel, Gianna.
Muriel is predeceased by her husband Ronald Wayne Hislop, father Dan Hale, mother Dene Wadden, step father Sam Wadden, son in-law Nigel Board, daughter in-law Kim Hislop and cousin/dearest friend Debbie Avery.
Muriel will be sadly missed by her children, Lori (Alain), Donnie (Dale), Kevin (Eva) and Donna; her brothers Doug (Kay), Don (Dorothylane), and step-sister Sharon (Allan) and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Muriel to a charity of choice.
Visitation will be held at Eagles Funeral Home in Westville on Friday October 13th from 6-8 pm. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 14th at 2 pm. from Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Barb Fotheringham officiating.
