Obituary
It saddened us to lose you, but you did not go alone, as a part of our hearts went with you the day God called you home. On January 15th, 2024 our lives were forever changed when our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend Morgan Philip Lillington, aged 83 passed away peacefully at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre with his loving family by his side. Born in Channel-Port aux Basques, NL. Morgan was the son of the late Samuel and Martha Lillington (nee Dicks) He was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Clifford and Rebecca Osmond (nee Short); son Paul Lillington; brother and sister’s, Jack (Alma) Lillington, Winnetta (John) Lilly, Margaret Petrovich, Helene (Clarence) Newhook, Fanny (Keltic) Farrell, Florence (Gordon) McNeil; brothers and sisters in-law, Leslie Currie, Albert White, Norman (Donalda) Osmond, Garnet (Mardee) Osmond, Terry Osmond, and Margaret Drake.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving sons Clifford (Arlene) Lillington of Margaree, NL, Jason (Wanda Lee) Lillington of Eastern Passage, NS; grandchildren, Colby (Courtney) Lillington of Corner Brook, NL, Chad (Amy) Lillington of Lloydminister, SK, Jake Lillington, Jordon (Bianca) Lillington both of Eastern Passage, NS; and the apple of his eye, his great-granddaughter Rory Elizabeth of Corner Book, NL.
He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters in-law; Carrie Currie, Rose White, William (Marilyn) Osmond, David Osmond, Eric Osmond, Barbara Osmond all from Port aux Basques, NL, Nina (Bud) Davis of Fort McMurray, AB; and his partner in crime, Dubsy Hardy; moose hunting buddy, Troy Kettle; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Morgan was a big guy with a big heart. He loved his family and extended family more then anything. He married the love of his life Harriet and had 56 wonderful years together. One of his favorite things to do was to go moose hunting in his camp at Tommy Gillis with his hunting buddies Garf Lomond, Jim Kettle, Jack Keeping, Henry Keeping, John Skeard and Dave Spencer. We know they are sitting around the camp table now, wood in the stove, a tip of the elbow and a few lies being told.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre for the care given to Dad over the last few days, as well as a very special thank you to his homecare workers over the last 6 years, especially Brenda, who was by his side until the very last day. Your care and compassion given to him did not go unnoticed.
In keeping with Morgan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Thursday January 18th, 2024 at 1 PM at East Haven Funeral Home, Grand Bay, NL. Prayer service at 2 PM officiated by Rev. Jane Allen with internment of ashes to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Morgan’s memory can be made to Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Foundation.
