Miriam Bligh Moore
1939-2024
We are sad to announce
the passing of our mom, Miriam Bligh (Kinsman) Moore, on July 7, 2024
at the age of 84. Born on the family farm in Lakeville, Miriam was the
daughter of the late Howard and Winnifred (Sponagle)
Kinsman.
Miriam spoke often of
the adventures she had growing up with great freedoms on a busy farm,
with flocks of sheep, work horses, oxen, and the people needed to tend
acres of apple orchards.
Miriam enjoyed being
with people, both in her home and in her workplace. Miriam retired
from her last place of work after a career of over 20 years with
Canada Post in the position of Assistant Postmaster.
Retirement brought a
newfound skill of producing fine scroll saw work, and the yearly apple
stand at her home.
In addition to her
parents, Miriam was predeceased by her husband, Frank Moore and her
siblings, Loreen Hornyak Struik, Harold Kinsman and Joe
Kinsman.
Miriam is survived by
her children, Greg (Brenda) Moore, of Five Islands, NS, Nancy (Kevin)
Canavan, of Cambridge, NS, and Stephen (Cynthia) Moore, of Dartmouth,
NS; grandsons, Stuart, Joseph, Harrison, Keigan and McKenzie;
great-grandchildren, Vivian, Bryce, and Quinn as well as several
nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the
kind and caring staff at Valley Hospice.
Visitation for Miriam
will be held on July 14, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held the
following day, July 15th at 2:00 p.m., Greg
White to officiate, with reception to follow, a burial will take place
in the Lakeview Cemetery, Billtown.
Donations in memory
may be made to the Valley Hospice Foundation, Diabetes Canada, or the
Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted
to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
