Mildred Wilma «Winnie» Schaak, of Hanover, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She was 78.
Born in Owen Sound on February 16, 1945 to the late Adolph and Viola (nee Crampton) Schopf. Better known as Wilma, she was employed with Schnieders as a Domestic Engineer. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 130 and will be remembered by many friends.
Survived by beloved husband Kenneth Schaak of Hanover. Loved mother of Michael (Danielle) Schaak of Michigan and Charles Schaak of Kitchener. Loved grandmother of Tegan, Mia, Ethan and Adrianna. Fondly remembered by her siblings Judy Beirnes, Chloe (Bob) Gonder, Betty Schopf, Barbara (Terry) Mitchell and by her inlaws Pauline Schopf, Cheryl Schopf as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents and her siblings «Addie» (Vivian) Schopf, Kay (Percy) Walker, Helene (Jack) Sager, Carrie (Raymond) Landhear, Louis Schopf, Rodney Schopf, Bonnie (Allan) Cornish, Ronald (Margaret) Schopf, Gordon Schopf, as well as 6 siblings that passed before her own birth and her brother in law John Beirnes.
To honour her wishes, there will be no services or visitation. Cremation has taken placed. Inurnment in Shiloh Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations to the Hanover & District Hospital Foundation were appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
