1939-2024
Mildred Josephine (Myles) Brewster passed away peacefully on
December 16th, 2024, at Valley Regional Hospital. She was born in
Wallbrook, Nova Scotia in 1939 and lived most of her life in Baxters
Harbour with her husband, Leslie. While raising her children, she was
also an avid gardener and cook, and her daughters all learned how to
work hard by watching her. She will be remembered as a great
storyteller and would hold your attention as she shared her life
stories. When she thought no one was listening she would sing and had
an amazing voice.
She is survived by 5 beautiful daughters (as she liked to
describe them), Korena, Heather, Sharon, Marlene and Tanya;
grandchildren, Lloyd, Adam, Jennifer, Arik, Josephine, Caitland,
Jason, Josh and Sarah; great grandchildren, Jacob, Aliya and Caden;
brothers, Lorne and Billy.
She was predeceased by her baby boy and by her first husband
Lloyd Rafuse; her second husband Leslie Brewster; her parents, Hardy
and Florence (Atwell) Myles; brothers, Richard, Alonzo, Wilfred; and
her sisters, Marion and Geraldine.
In keeping with Mildred’s wishes, cremation will
take place and there will be no funeral. A celebration to honor her
life will be held in Berwick at a later date. Donations in her memory
can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or through the VRH
Grateful Patient Program at www.vrhfoundation.ca/grateful-patient-program/.
