Obituary
Born and raised in North Bay, Mike worked in sales as a proud and dedicated employee at Kingston Lee Watson where he travelled the Northern route and was eventually promoted to Branch Manager at the Kapuskasing location. Mike’s greatest joys included snowmobiling, Harley Davidson motorcycles, hunting, NASCAR, boating, and hosting parties at his home on Sunset Blvd. Mike is predeceased by his Parents Mike and Olive Rathwell (Adams), Sister Donna (Jim) Shortt, Nephew Richard (Laurie), Great Niece Cassandra and Great Nephew Jordan and long-time friend Jack Mackie. Mike is survived by his Sister Debbie (Tom Sr.) Hawkins. Uncle to Tom (Pam) Hawkins, Ken Shortt, Robert (Holly) Shortt. Great Uncle to Kayla (Brian) Johnson, Kendra Hawkins, and Preston Shortt. Special thanks to the D3 Doctors and Nurses at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. As per Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at the 406 Squadron RCAF Alliance, 406 1st Ave. W. (North Bay) on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. If desired, donations to the Lung Transplant Clinic at the Toronto General Hospital would be appreciated.
