KUSINSKIS, Michael (1978 – 2024)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael (“Mike”) Kusinskis on Saturday,
May 18 th , 2024, in Sudbury, ON, after a courageous battle with cancer. Son of Patricia Puddy (Ralph) and
Peter Kusinskis (Madonna). Loving husband of Crystal, and dear father of Jackson and Elliana. Mike is
survived by his brothers Justin (Jennifer), Alex (Katie), and Tristan (Caity).
Born and raised in Sudbury, ON, Mike lived a wonderful, adventure-filled life. From an early age, never
one to sit still, Mike was always looking for his next adventure, eventually leading to his enrolment in
Army Cadets when the family moved to Lively, ON. This positive introduction to the Armed Forces led to
Mike’s decision to enrol in the Navy at 18 years old, kicking off 10 years of service to his country. Mike’s
adventure in the Navy had him sailing around the world in his early years of service. He became a Ship’s
Diver during his time at sea, and eventually, he became a highly trained Clearance Diver where he was
able to blow stuff up as part of his job!
After 10 years of service, Mike and Crystal decided to embark on their next adventure, moving closer to
home to start a family. For this chapter, Mike put his hands-on technical skills to good use, becoming an
Electrician, and later deciding to start his own business. While he did not have an entrepreneurial
background, Mike excelled as a business owner due to his unparalleled people skills, trustworthy nature,
a desire to do the right thing for his customers, and genuine concern for the happiness and wellbeing of
“his guys” that worked with him. All the while, Mike and Crystal built their dream home and life with
their children, on a beautiful lake in Naughton, ON.
Mike will be sorely missed by all who knew him. While his time with us was cut short, we are better for
having known him, and forever grateful for the time we did have with him.
We ask in Mike’s honour, you consider making a donation to Maison McCulloch Hospice for their
tremendous care and compassion looking after Mike in his final days.
