Michael Chandler
Williams, 76, of Tantallon, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November
12, 2024 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Michael was born in
Grandmere, QC to the late Maurice Chandler and Dorian Winnifred (Hogg)
Williams.
Michael spent his
early years as a successful foreign exchange trader on Wall Street and
in Toronto for various US and Canadian banks. He retired from the
banking industry settling in Wolfville with his family where he was an
entrepreneur int eh Annapolis Valley for many years.
Michael was a
passionate golfer who played competitively since his high school
years. He was a member of Ken-Wo Golf Club for many years. At the ripe
age of 70, Michael proudly became the captain of his own boat,
«Parbid», motoring around St. Margarets Bay.
Michael is survived by
his wife, Elizabeth «Betty», Tantallon and son, Sean
(Jessica), Charleston, SC; daughter, Michelle (Gary), Tampa, FL. He
was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Eva, Callan, Sofia and
his three favorite siters-in-law, Leslie, Lyndsey and Patti, as well
as nephew, Peter Isley.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; sister, Lyn; nephew, Ian; mother and
father-in-law, Phil and Verna Murphy and sister-in-law, Jane
Murphy.
Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation or service, by request. A
private family interment will be held in the summer. Donations in
Michael’s memory may be made to his favorite charity, Hope
for Wildlife. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
