It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Melvin Kelley of Trinity East who passed away suddenly on April 27th, 2024, age 78 Years.
He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, parents Stuart and Effie Kelley, and parents-in law Jack and Sadie Shelley.
Left to mourn with loving memories are his son Michael (Sheila), daughters Debbie (Trent) and Vanessa (Mike), grandchildren Bradley (Rebecca), Rachel and Thomas, brother Francis (Eileen),sister Karen (Chris),a niece, nephews and a large circle of family and friends.
Born in Harbour Deep, Melvin was a long-time teacher and principal at Bishop White School. He was involved in many community groups including the Lions club and food bank, the Church, the Loyal Orange Lodge, the 50 Plus Club, Trinity East Recreation Committee, Trinity benefit club, and the Fire Department where he was made an honourary member upon his retirement. He enjoyed playing his accordion with the Church band and at many kitchen parties in the Trinity Bight area.
Visitation will take place at St. Andrews Anglican Church from 7-9 PM on Tuesday April 30th and from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Wednesday May 1st.
The Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, May 2nd at 2 PM at St. Andrews Anglican church in Trinity East. Internment will follow at the Trinity East-Port Rexton Anglican Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Andrews Church Memorial Fund.
