THOMPSON, Melville «Mel» George
Passed away in the arms of his beloved wife, and surrounded by his daughters at the age of 93 on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Arbour Heights Care Home, Kingston. Cherished husband of Gladys for 73 years, loving father of Jackie Baxter (late Dennis), Kim Jamieson (Kevin), and Cathy Siemenson (Peter). Mel will always be remembered by his grandchildren, Angela Erkan (Ziya), Lisa Angelo (Kristiaan), Brock Jamieson, Adam Thompson (Danielle), Lacey Uens (Ken), and Kally Siemenson, great grandchildren Mason Erkan, Gavin Angelo, Max Angelo, Ben Thompson, Annabelle Thompson, Ava Siemenson, and Hallie Rae Uens. Predeceased by his sisters Norma Bell and Francis Barham and their husbands Clarke and Harold. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mel was a proud employee of the Ministry of Transportation for 42 years. He was loved by many close friends who he shared many great memories with.
The family would like to extend a big thank all the staff at Arbour Heights for all their great care over these last few months.
A celebration to remember Mel to be held at the Wartman Funeral Home, Kingston on Friday, July 14th, 2023, at 1pm with a reception to follow.
