Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Maxwell Carter, of Port aux Basques NL, announce his peaceful passing on August 10th, 2023 at the age of 85 years at his residence at the Mountain Hope Manner, in Port aux Basques, NL. Max was the son of the late James and Julia Carter (nee Savory). He was also predeceased by his wife, Ada May; brothers and sister’s, Eric (Mary) Carter, Robert (Ada) Carter, Issac (Geraldine) Carter, Sadie Carter, Pearl (Pat) Hynes, Mary (Ted) Pike, Maude (Mack) Kendall, and Dolly (Brainard) Levalliant; step-brother, Robert Hynes.
Leaving to mourn is his last surviving sister: Margaret Fraser; step brothers, Joseph, Martin, and Jerry Hynes; step-sister, Judy (Joe) Sheean; step daughter, Joanne (Jerry) Jesso; step-granddaughter, Amanda; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Hope Manner for the care and compassion given to Max over the last few years.
In keeping with Max’s wishes cremation has taken place. A prayer service will be held at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, on Monday August 14th, @ 1 pm officiated by Rev Jane Allen. Internment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, NL. Donations in Max’s memory can be made to St. James Anglican Church.
