Maureen (Mo) passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024, in Vancouver, BC at the age of 88. Maureen is predeceased by her husband, Barry. She leaves behind her loving family including sons Denny (Rena), Greg (Jeannine), Shawn (Angela), daughter Deanna (Rob), eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Maureen was born in and spent most of her life in Vancouver. After high school graduation, Maureen attended Queens University for a year on a scholarship, then returned to Vancouver to complete her bachelor’s degree in arts at UBC in 1957, where she met and married her “sweetheart” Barry Dean Clare.
Maureen will long be remembered for her love of people and social gatherings. Her favourite times were spent with family and friends, picnicking, camping, enjoying coffee klatches and soirees. She passed on her love for the piano by teaching others in her home for over 70 years.
Maureen’s friends and family will be forever touched by her warm smile and open heart.
