Mary Patricia Davidson (nee Krajacic or Krayachie ) passed away March 5, 2024 after a brief battle with heart failure , at Royal Columbian Hospital, surrounded by her loving family during her final days.
Mary was born March 6, 1930, in Vancouver B.C. Mary spent her early years in Surrey, before settling in New Westminster, where she lived for the last 60 years.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Stanley William (Bill) and by her siblings Emil, Nick, Martha and Helen. She is survived her sisters, Carol Eyton and Rose Lawrie. Mary is also survived by her four boys, Bill (Candice), Jim, Paul (Cindy) and Peter (Angela) as well as by nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mary graduated from St. Paul’s School of Nursing in 1951 and had a fulfilling 38-year career as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in New Westminster.
Mary loved gardening, knitting and cooking, including her legendary tarts and birthday cakes.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday April 12th at 12 noon at St Peter’s Catholic Church at 330 Royal Ave in New Westminster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant House Vancouver or Operation Smile Canada causes that Mary supported.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff on 6 South at RCH for looking after Mary in her final days and to Dr. Julia Reynolds who went beyond the call of duty during this difficult time.
