Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on October 5th , 2023, Mary Josephine Hollohan, age 87, from Summerville, at the Dr.G.B.Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville.
Predeceased by her loving husband Michael Hollohan; Parents Elias and Frances Maloney; Brothers Frankie, Dominic and Patricia.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Mary (Grant), John, Madonna (Derek), Elias, Jeanette (Gus), Michael (Sheila), Patrick (Karen), Karen (Dave), David and Cathy (Barry); Grandchildren: Colleen (John), Johnny, Jennifer (Peter), Cathy (Jon), Natasha (Tom), Ashley (Casey), Matthew (Krissy), Taylor (Kyle), Danielle (Mitch), Brittany (Andrew), Hayley (Colin), Mackenzy, Atlas and Noelle; Great Grandchildren: Emyn, Noah, Jacob, Gabe, Liam and Hudson, Nora and Isla, Reed and Kate, Serena and Cali.
Mary was a kind and gentle woman who loved and was loved. She was a devoted wife to Mike, her husband who left far too soon and spent her days talking endlessly about how much she missed him. Mary was a woman of faith, loved to go whenever the car was moving, ate whenever she could and laughed with whomever she met. She was both witty and charming and her smile would light up a room. But more than anything else, she loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were the centre of her world. She leaves a void in all our hearts but we want her to know that the lessons she has taught us will carry us through. Mom, we love you. Your boys will be loved and cared for as you would have wanted. Go be with the love of your life. He’s been waiting.
We would like to give special thanks to the nursing staff in comfort care at GB Cross hospital for their compassion and care in mom’s last few days. You have truly given her the dignity she so deserved. To the special ladies who provided care in mom’s home for so many years…thank you. You have helped make her life better in so many ways.
Resting at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Summerville.
Visitation: Saturday, October 7th, 2023 7-9 pm for family only
Sunday, October 8th, 2023 2-4 and 7-9 pm public visitation
Funeral service to take place on Monday, October 9th, 2023 at 2 pm with interment following at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Summerville.
