**In Loving Memory of Mary Greenwood (née Grisdale)**
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Greenwood (née Grisdale) on the afternoon of October 16th, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Greenwood, and their cherished children, Jewelie (Jamie Held), Bob (Sandra), and Jeff. Mary was the adored grandmother of Trevor Isabelle (Ashley), Shelby Greenwood (Cody Young), Madison Tome (née Greenwood) (Simon), Michael Greenwood, Jake Greenwood, Amy Smith (Grant), and Jesse Held (Samantha). Brother Bill Grisdale (Valorie), sisters Bonnie Rivers (née Grisdale), and Georgia Beck (née Grisdale), Bill’s family Mark Greenwood (Beverly), John Greenwood (Bonnie), as well as many great-grandchildren.
Mary lived her life with unwavering strength, determination, and an indomitable spirit. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will forever be engraved in our hearts. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, resilience, and boundless love.
Mary faced her illness with remarkable courage, supported by the love of her family and friends. In her final moments, she was surrounded by the warmth of her loved ones, finding solace in their presence.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all the medical teams and healthcare professionals who provided exceptional care and support to Mary during her illness. Their dedication allowed Mary to face her challenges on her own terms, demonstrating her unwavering strength and spirit until the end.
Mary Greenwood will be remembered not only for her tenacity but, her warm embrace, the way she jumped to lend a hand and help anyone who needed it, the way she made everyone around her feel loved and cherished, and of course, her fudge. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her legacy of love, strength, and resilience will continue to inspire us all.
In lieu of flowers, Mary asked that donations be made to the Salvation Army.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be announced through social media channels in the near future.
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but about learning to dance in the rain.
As we mourn her passing, let us remember Mary’s wisdom, love and devotion to family and friends as we carry her spirit forward, finding strength in her enduring legacy.
