BOEHLER, Mary Ellen
Passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly on Friday, September 6, 2024, at her residence in New Hamburg. Born in Kitchener, Ontario on November 25, 1929, Mary Ellen was just shy of her 95th Birthday.
Cherished and loving mother of Tom Boehler (Charlene), and Sally Cressman (Brad Sword). Devoted nana of Peyton Boehler (Vanessa), Jade Boehler (Tyler McCarthy), Courtney (Rob Hough), Kayla (Dan Martin) and great nana of Scarlett, Olivia, Thomas, Liam, Brooks, Annie and Shay. Mary Ellen will be missed by her sister Jean Cook and sisters-in-law Mildred Spahr, Jean Boehler and by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Orval «Tom» Boehler father and mother Alfred and Mary Elizabeth (Craig) Christner, son-in-law Rick Cressman, Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Stuart Cook, Jack Spahr, Earl Boehler, Cecil and Thelma Boehler and Dolores and Rene Cadorth.
Mary Ellen was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church, New Hamburg. She loved tending to her gardens and admiring her beautiful flower beds. She enjoyed bowling, scrolling through facebook, and attending her long time coffee club social time. After retirement from CIBC, Mary Ellen and Tom enjoyed travelling to their trailer in Florida and spending time with friends. Mary Ellen loved her family and cherished the moments spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At her request cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m and again on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, 65 Boullee Street, New Hamburg.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation and can be done on the funeral home website.
