Mary Elizabeth LaCosta Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary LaCosta announce her passing surrounded by her family at her residence in Campbell’s Creek on April 9th, 2024 at the age of 95 years.
Mary lived in Campbell’s Creek for the 95 years of her life raising her family. She enjoyed a good chat on the phone, knitting, walking, and a scattered bingo game. Her biggest concern always was “Where is Roddie”.
She will be greatly missed by: her children: Judy, Sam (Wendy), Isabell (Ken), Roger (MaryLee), and her pride and joy Roddie; her grandchildren: Dean, Deanna, Joliah, Tammy, Tracy, Samantha, Ryan, Travis, Kayla, and Kyle; great grandchildren: Nichole, Isabella, Reece, Rosie, Jaedan, Jaidah, Caoilainn, Abbott, Blake, Dominic, Rylee, Spencer, Stassi, and Hayes; great great grandchild Brielle; and brother Finten (Joyce); as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.
Mary was predeceased by: her husband Alphonsus (2013); parents Isabell and Samuel Penney; sisters: Theresa, Aggie, and Carmie; and brothers John and Sam.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11th from 2:00-9:00 PM at Maria Regina Church, Port au Port East. From where the funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 12th at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at the Campbell’s Creek Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately following at the Campbell’s Creek Community Centre. In lieu of flowers donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Campbell’s Creek Cemetery.
The family would like to thank her care workers Eunice, Sheryl, Geraldine and Catherine for the care they gave Mom over the years.
