Colleen passed away peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, surrounded by her family on June 25, 2023 in her 71st year. Sadly missed by her loving daughters Sherri (Hugo), and Marsha (Jim). Devoted grandmother of Sabina, Diego, Stella, Sebastian, and Alandra. Adored GG of Ivory, and Cruz.
Daughter of the late John & Rose Gatenby. Big sister to Jackie Gatenby (Diane Keast) of Lakeport, John (Sam) Gatenby (Ruth) of Nova Scotia, Ginny McIlmoyle (Jim) of Cobourg and Marie Elmsley (Chris) of Smiths Falls.
Colleen was happiest caring for others, baking beautiful cakes for celebrations and overfeeding her family and friends. A weekend spent with Colleen meant gaining a few pounds. Quiet and reserved, Colleen was game for anything, travelling often with her family to South America, B.C. and sunny destinations in between. For over 30 years Colleen’s kindness and caring ways were exemplified by her devotion to residents of the Golden Plough in Cobourg. She was much loved by residents and co-workers alike.

Colleen will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Canton Cemetery.
