With deep regret and great sorrow, we wish to announce the passing of Martha (Nina) Kajut on Friday May 19, 2023 at St. Peters at Chedoke in Hamilton. Nina was the loving wife of her late husband Alfred L. Kajut for forty three years. She will be extremely missed by her only daughter, Lena M. Hendershot and son-in-law William (Bill) Hendershot. She was a wonderful and supportive mother and her love was unwavering and steadfast. Although her late sisters, Anne and Natasha Tarasova are no longer here, she had a strong connection with them both and loved visiting her native homeland and place of birth. Nina enjoyed visiting the family cottage on Buckhorn Lake and visiting our cottage on Georgian Bay. She loved going to the beaches of Lake Erie and eating perch at Erie Beach in Port Dover with us. Her favorite pastime was playing the lottery. Nina lived in Europe and England during WWII which shaped her outlook on life and made her a hard worker in all aspects of everything she did. We would like to extend our thanks to the staff at St. Peters Long Term Care for looking after her so well. Also we would like to thank Aberdeen Gardens Retirement Residence for caring for her for the several years she lived there. Nina will be buried at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Burlington.
