Obituary For Martha Evelyn Urness
Our dear mother Martha Evelyn Urness sadly passed away at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital on November 19, 2024 at the age of 96. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community and church in Grande Prairie, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Alvin Urness, son Morris Urness, sister Esther Scott and husband Albert, brother Arne Sorenson and wife Anne.
She leaves to mourn her daughter, Shirley Leonardi(Aldo), son Darell Urness(Patsy), son Glen Urness(Laura), and son Eric Urness(Marie); Grand children Dario Leonardi(Cheryl), Loretta Bergstrom(Mike), Lianne Leonardi, Corey Urness, Tyler Urness(Agatha), Cale Urness(Randy), Jessie Urness (Corey), Leanna Graham, Christopher Nagel, Randy Nagel, and 20 great grand children Kyra, Carter, Spencer, Masen, Matteo, Olivia, Joshua, Declan, Devyn, Aliya, Ryker, Mattais, Gunnr, Teija, Jaxson, Eden, Ella, Kingston, Scarlet, Gavin along with countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.
Donations can be made in memory of Martha to The Grande Prairie Salvation Army located at 9615 102 Street, 780-532-3720. Or, you may choose a charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held for Martha at 1:00pm on Thursday November 28, 2024 at Bear Creek Funeral Home (11802 99 Avenue Grande Prairie Alberta), with interment to follow at the Grande Prairie Cemetery.
