Marlo de Jesus Obituary
Marlo Abellañosa de Jesus passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones and family, at home on Saturday, June 22nd, at the age of 59.
A loving husband of 28 years and a proud father, he is survived by his immediate family: his wife Maria and his children Mark Adrian and his wife Melissa, Joshua Emmanuel, and Victoria Milagros. His dog Willow, cat Rocky, and his “grandpuppy” Adonis will all miss him dearly.
Marlo joins his father, Jose Maria de Jesus, ENG, and his mother, Dr. Milagros de Jesus, in heaven with his brother Ariel.
He leaves behind his siblings: brother Nico and his sons Fiorenzo and Joaquim, sister LaNina and her husband John and their children Nidge and Annika, and his youngest sister Charisma “Cookie” and her husband Michael and their daughter Cara. Marlo had the opportunity to see his brother before he passed.
Throughout his time living in Canada, he ingrained himself with his family here, leaving behind his aunt and uncle, Marylou and Albert DeLeon, his cousins Clarisse (Trevor, Lucas, Jack) and Luigi (Julie, Adrienne, Juliette), and his extended family, the Quintos – Bing, Ding, Katrina (Charles, Ronin, Salvadora), Cecilia, and Alex. The Bayaborda family – Mary, Beverly, Gemma (Anthony, Isaiah, Gabriel), Melanie (Roman, Arthur), Teresa, and the Acunas – Michael (Borbora, Elsa) and Gen.
Marlo was a graduate of Centro Escolar University in the Philippines, where he completed his dentistry degree and began practicing before moving to Canada in 1994, where he would meet his wife Maria. Together, they built a family and strengthened their familial bonds.
Marlo worked at Owens-Illinois for twenty years, starting at the Consumer Glass plant in Toronto before moving to the main plant in Brampton. His coworkers will remember him as always having a smile on his face and actively asking them about their days.
Marlo loved to make people laugh, and this was evident with family, coworkers, and strangers. He had a love for movies and media and instilled this in his children. Star Wars, Top Gun, Indiana Jones, The Right Stuff, and Armageddon were some of his favorites. Prior to dentistry, Marlo wanted to be an aerospace engineer but chose to follow in his mother’s footsteps to become a dentist.
Marlo lived his life for two things: loving his family and ensuring others had a smile on their face. His children look to ensure Marlo’s legacy by continuing his values and love.
The de Jesus family would like to extend a sincere thanks to our immediate family, those who came and visited and spent time with Marlo, the doctors, nurses, and staff at Milton Hospital, Acclaim Health, and Bayshore, St. Benedict Parish and Father John, Mckersie & Early Funeral Home and those who have supported us through this whole ordeal. The world truly is a better place when we come together.
