Mark Stephens
Stephens, Mark Yuri – Age 51, Millbrook. A beloved father, husband, son, brother, cousin and best friend, passed away at the age of 51 at his residence on July 3, 2024. He was born on May 21, 1973.
His loss leaves a profound void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Mark was a guiding light for many, offering support and wisdom during life’s toughest challenges and sharing in the joys of happier times. His boundless love touched the hearts of all who crossed his path, and his generous spirit knew no bounds. A man of remarkable intelligence and adaptability, Mark tackled every task with skill and determination. His willingness to learn new things solely to assist a friend exemplified his selflessness and unwavering devotion to those he cared for. His quick wit and infectious laughter brought joy to those around him, particularly his beloved wife, Evangeline.
Together, Mark and Evangeline welcomed their daughter, Trinity, into the world. Trinity embodies the very essence of Mark, a legacy that will forever endure in those who knew him. Mark’s passion for Disney was a defining characteristic, and his recent visit to Disney California fulfilled a long-standing dream. Gratitude fills our hearts for Sandy Joe and Tina, who helped make many of Mark’s cherished vacations a reality.
His love for his mother, Theresa and brother, Vance knew no bounds, evident in his expressions of affection and care. Mark was the heart of not only his own family but of countless others who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his kindness, humour, and love.
Mark had an array of careers throughout his life. He worked as a logger, ITT Sheraton Casino in Nova Scotia as a blackjack dealer and supervisor, at Treaty Gas Enterprises, in a call centre at Convergys, a DJ, an elementary teacher’s aide, a fisherman, among other roles. Lastly, he worked as a long-haul truck driver for Easson’s Transport Limited.
Mark is survived by his wife, Evangeline Dedam; daughter, Trinity Stephens (Owen Sutter) of Millbrook; son, Cameron Miller; mother, Theresa Stephens (Bernard Savoie) of Millbrook; grandmother, Doris Abram of Millbrook; brother, Vance Stephens of Millbrook; his three nephews, Josiah Stephens, Kluskap Stephens and Kinap Stephens; his niece, Raine Stephens and Theresa Hardgrave, who was like another mother to him. He was predeceased by his father, Cyril Stephens and brother, Kurt Stephens.
Mark will be resting in the Millbrook Seniors’ Centre, 841 Willow St, Millbrook from Tuesday, July 9th at 2pm until time of Funeral Mass on Thursday, July 11th at 11am in Sacred Heart Church, Millbrook.
