Marj Wilkinson, (Nee Andrews), beloved wife and best friend to John (RIP 2006) for 52 years.
Marj was born into a farming family in Topcroft near Norwich, England, on the 8th of December 1934. Daughter to Jessie & Frank Andrews, the youngest child of 4. Little sister to Mabel, Len (Joyce) and Dolly.
After meeting John, she completed her Civil Service qualifications in Cambridge, England, then aged 19 years, Marjorie followed John to Canada.
During her lifetime, Marjorie carved a long and successful career at CSA.,rising through the ranks through hard work and determination.
Marj & John were keen volunteers and active fundraisers for their local communities of Caledon East, Jack Lake, Apsley & Indialantic, Florida: Adopt-a-Road, Friends of Caledon Library; St James Anglican Church; CSA retirees activities; Meals-on Wheels; Progressive Conservative Party; Vera Davies retirement home and Jack Lake Association to name a few.
Loving Aunt to Jennie (Dave), great aunt to Peter.
Dearest friend to many, in particular: Marg & Bill Anquetil; Caroline and Christie; Rhoda & John Cocraine; Dave & Kim Tucker & Roger Eacock. Heartfelt thanks for all the love and support given to Marjorie over the years. We can never thank you enough.
To her family in England and friends, too many to mention. all equally valued and loved by Marjorie, in Caledon East, Apsley, England and Florida, she will be very much missed.
Jennie, Dave & Peter would like to thank Marg & Bill Anquetil and Avalon retirement home for their love, care and respect for Marj when she was in most need. The most precious of gifts.
A memorial service will be held in the Spring, this date will be advised, to celebrate Marj, a long life well lived.
A tree will be planted in memory of Marjorie in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 22nd Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
