Obituary of Marion Garrod
Garrod: Marion Isabel (née Ford) –
Marion Isabel (Ford) Garrod of Highgate passed away at Four Counties Hospital in Newbury on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the age of 89.
Beloved wife of the late «Sonny» Eugene Raymond Garrod (2016).
Beloved Mom of Denise (Don) Graham.
Cherished Gramma to Krystal (Bubba) Riley and Kurtis (Sarah) Graham and Great-Gramma to Sonny Riley, Eleanor and Ophelia Graham.
Daughter of the late Irvine and Doris (Walters) Ford.
Dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Ralph (2024) (Mary Lou) Ford and Doug (Linda) Ford, Joyce (Ed, 2022) Woods, late Pete (2023) (Barbara) Garrod and Gayle (Bill) Clarridge.
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Marion was a life member of the Highgate Women’s Institute and had been active with the Highgate District Agricultural Fair Board for many years, receiving honours for her service along the way.
Marion will be fondly remembered as a school bus driver for Badder Bus Lines, getting kids safely to Orford Township Public School.
Marion was known to always put others before herself and she cared deeply for her family, friends and community.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Interment to follow at Duart Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Marion to the Four Counties Health Services Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
