HOLMES, Marilyn June Wallace (Mills) U. E.; eldest daughter of the late Bruce and Grace (Valliere) Wallace; Marilyn was born June 1st 1935, in Markham Township, York County, she died on May 15th 2023, at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton.
Loving mother of Paul Mills, Brent Mills and Nancy, Ann Beirnes and Dan Clemmer and Craig Mills (Rosalia). Devoted grandmother of Candice, Kayla, Scott, Lisa, Katie, David, Kyle, Sara, Leah, Jacquelyn and Rachel, great grandmother to many. Survived by her husband Donald Holmes. Marilyn will be missed by her sisters Bette Cockwell, Diane Newell (Keith), Cheryl Major, by brother, Keith Wallace (Elaine), by sister-in-law Edith Lunn and by her many nieces, and nephews.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond Mills and brothers-in-law Mac Cockwell, Gord Major and Jim Lunn.
Marilyn attended S.S. # 12, Markahm Twp. Public School. The Wallace family moved to Mornington Twp. In 1949 where she attended Milverton High School. Marilyn spent many hours reading, knitting, sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed researching her ancestry and kept a good record of genealogy. Marilyn worked as a PSW for many years at Knollcrest Lodge.
At Marilyns request cremation has taken place. There will be no services. Interment will take place at the Knox Wesley Cemetery, Millbank.
As expressions of sympathy, donations would be accepted to Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel or to Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton.
