Obituary For Marilyn Evelyn Balderston
August 10, 1942 – October 15, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Marilyn Balderston (nee McAllister) of Grande Prairie at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital on October 15th, 2023 at 81 years of age.
Marilyn was born in Calgary, Alberta, and graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Education. Marilyn was a well liked school teacher in the smith area. She travelled throughout the world and loved running into people she taught throughout the years. She enjoyed playing cards and would seldom complain about anything. Marilyn always looked on the bright side of life and could often be seen visiting and laughing. One of her favourite things later in life was to spend time with her grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her two sons, Chris Balderston (Pam) of smith and Greg Balderston (Nicole Mann) of Calgary and her 4 grandchildren, Mac, George, Leo and Evelyn as well as her Sister Reta Birkness, brother Richard McAllister and cousin Grace Ulmer.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers and staff at Prairie Lake Seniors Community for the years of care.
A celebration of life will be held at Bear Creek Funeral home, 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie, on Monday October 23rd, 2023 at 11AM. Interment will be completed at a later date at Highwood Cemetery in High River.
