Marilyn Mills Obituary
Marilyn was born on April 6, 1950 in Sudbury Ontario, and was a resident of Salmon Arm for 17 years. She passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Marilyn is predeceased by her father Everett Gillis and her mother Helena Gillis. She is survived by her spouse James Rowe, brother Blair Gillis (Anne Marie), nephew Darryl Gillis (Wendy), nieces Vanessa Hadley (Andrew) and Selyn Holmes (Matthew), great nieces Myla, Tahia, Keira, Charlotte and great nephew Owen. Also survived by mother-in-law Evelyn Rowe and sister-in-law Darlene Rowe (Mike).
Her work took her to many parts of Canada. In Moosenee Ontario, she worked for the Royal Bank, in Winnipeg Manitoba, a manager with K-mart, settling in Salmon Arm B.C., where she retired from Loblaws Corporation.
Marilyn was very active in all the communities she lived in. The ANAF Unit 283 Winnipeg was where she played Snooker, ShuffleBoard and Darts. In Salmon Arm, she was a member of the Canoe Senior Centre where she played Crib & Bingo, Seniors Fifth Avenue Activity Centre, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #62. She was an avid Canasta player, a favourite pastime with friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the «Turtle Valley Donkey Refuge». Marilyn’s arrangements are in care of the Bowers Funeral Services & Crematorium, where cremation has taken place. A celebration of Life will follow at a later time and will be announced at marilynmills.com.
