With saddened hearts, the family of Marie Theresa Dozois (née Ditty) announce her passing on November 29, 2024, at the age of 90. She is now reunited in heaven with her devoted husband of 67 years, Louis Dozois, who was only recently deceased on August 19th, 2024. They had been connected invisibly by a love and devotion that was an incredible gift for all of us to witness. We knew they could not spend too much time apart.
She will be missed dearly by her children David (Kim), Janet (William Powell), Greg (Karen), and Dennis (Lucy) as well as her many grandchildren: Michael (Gilena), Stephen (Amanda), Robert, Graham (Halle), Gabrielle (Arnold), Mari-El (Nick), Nicholas (Brittney), Ariana and Natasha. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Brianna, Scarlette, Miguel, Austyn and Andi.
Born on March 21, 1934, in Windsor, Ontario she was one of 8 children born to Joseph and Ellen (nee May) Ditty. Dear sister of Frank and Eva Ditty, Leo and Kay Ditty, she was predeceased by brothers Joseph Ditty, John (Jack) Ditty, Raymond and wife Jean Ditty, Bernard Ditty, and sister Dorothy and husband Jack Fraser.
Along with immediate family, Marie will be missed by many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as many close family friends.
Marie became a nurse in 1955, graduating from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Chatham, Ontario and worked for a short while in that field. She was exactly the caring sort of soul and personality for that role, and her sweet personality and caring nature was felt by everyone around her.
The family extends warm thanks and appreciation to the staff of Lanark Place in Kitchener for their care over the past few months.
Cremation has taken place and a private funeral for family will take place at a later date to celebrate her very blessed and full life of 90 years.
In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, a donation to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in her name would be greatly appreciated.
