It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marie Lenora Billard announce the passing of our loving and beautiful, partner, mother and grandmother on Monday August 14th, 2023, with her loving family at her side at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, at the age of 77 years. Marie was the daughter of the late Jim and Alice Pike.
Marie leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her partner, Donald Pearce; her loving daughters, Mildred (Darren) Pearce and Jessica (Fenton Thompson) Billard. A proud grandmother she will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Cassidy, Kaylee and Ava. She will forever remain in the hearts of her brother, Harold (Kathleen) Pike; her brother in-law Edward (Ruth) Billard; sisters in-law, Grace (Keith) Savoury, Josephine (Kevin) Forward, Margaret (John) Snow, Dora (Donald) Skeard; brothers-in-law, Clarence (Diane) Pearce, Carol ann (Art) LeRiche, Donna (Al) Comeau, Susan (Bruce) Goulding, Melinda (Edgar) White, Bertha (Karl) Gale; Special niece, Valerie (Wince) Ingram and special son in-law Joe (Lee) Pearce plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Marie was predeceased by her loving spouse of 46 years; Gordon Billard; mother and father in-law, Edward and Mildred Billard; sister, Genevieve Pike; brothers, Gerald (Viola) Pike, Eric (Marie) Pike, Robert (Carrie) Pike, George (Ann) Dominie and James Savoury.
Marie was a fantastic cook, in both her career and at home. A hard worker in all that she did. She was a member of the lioness and lions club for over 50 years, and a member of the 50+ Club where she enjoyed many social gathering. She had a large circle of friends on her card club of over 40 years and her little lunch group with whom she shopped until she dropped. A wonderful person who will be missed.
Visitation taking place on Wednesday August 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road. Funeral service taking place on Thursday August 17th, 11 a.m. at St. James Anglican Church, Channel- Port aux Basques, officiated by Rev. Fay Coffin and Rev. Jane Allen, interment to follow at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway. In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the family.
