Obituary
Marie passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services on Monday, May 22, 2023. Owen Sound. Born on February 11, 1946, in Owen Sound. Patricia Marie Carter (neé Dearden) was in her 78th year. Beloved wife of 57 years to Stephen Carter. Loving mother of Karen Smart (David) of Waterloo and Paul Carter of Milton. Special Gramma of Meagan (Jarrett), Ryan, Joshua and Khayla. Sister of Doug Dearden and Jim Dearden and sister-in-law of Mike (Trudy) Carter of Owen Sound. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Marg Dearden, her parents-in-law, Cyril and Gladys Carter, her siblings-in-law, Patti Dearden, Ada Dearden, Sheila Carter, Bob Carter, John Carter.
Special thanks to the wonderful Doctors, Nurses, PSW’s, Housekeepers and Ward Clerks on 6-2 Grey Bruce Health Services for the love and compassion they gave our Mom during her stay.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday, May 26th at 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 27 at 11 a.m. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery will take place on another date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Festival of Northern Lights Owen Sound or the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce would be appreciated.
