Obituary of Maria Silani
Maria Silani (nee Scodellaro) was born in 1931 in San Martino al Tagliamento, Italy. It is with heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the peaceful passing of Maria at the age of 93, surrounded by her loving family. Maria was predeceased by her husband Angelo, and will be dearly missed by her son Larry (Karen) and late son Louis (Mary Lou), her beloved grandchildren Andrea (Caroline), Natalie (Skylar), Jacob and David (Julia), and her special niece Lia (Nino). Dear Sister to the late Albina Zanier, Elsa Truant, Ricardo and Luigi Scodellaro, and in-laws here and in Italy. Maria will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Maria had a passion for reading, gardening and sewing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. We hold those memories dear to our hearts.
At Mom’s request, a private family celebration will be held, with entombment to take place at Heavenly Rest Cemetery where she will rest with Angelo.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the Staff at the Village of Aspen Lake (Sandwich Towne) for their kind, compassionate and excellent care. If you so desire, donations in memory of Maria’s late son Louis can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
