Ogilvie, Marian (nee Marshall) (March 26, 1935 – May 4, 2024)
It is with sadness that we, the family of Marian Ogilvie announce her peaceful passing, after a brief illness, at the VON Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the age of 89. Marian lived a long and well-lived life. She will be remembered for her years of service as the former secretary at Grand Bend United Church and earlier with 3M, for many years. Always a devoted Christian, she has continually attended Grand Bend United Church digitally, after relocating to Tillsonburg. Marian is predeceased by her husband Don Ogilvie (February 1, 2000). She is lovingly remembered by her children: Marshall (Dianne) Pettitt, of Winnipeg; Diana Smith (late husband Michael, 2008), of Ingersoll; David (Carla) Pettitt, of Kitchener. Marian was a proud and caring grandmother to: Mitchell Pettitt, Adrienne Pettitt, Kaitlyn (Brett Sutton), Kirsten Smith, Jack Pettitt, Ashlyn Pettitt and a special great-grandmother to Paige Sutton. Also survived by a special cousin and friend, Glenda Suggitt.
In keeping with Marian’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Grand Bend United Church and will be announced soon. Friends, neighbours and relatives can share favourite memories, express personal condolences, upload photos, order flowers or contribute memorial donations to the “VON Oxford” (for Sakura House) or the “Canadian Cancer Society” via Marian’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J.
