Obituary of Maria Joao Melo
It is with heavy hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of Maria João, surrounded by her loving family on August 6th, 2024, at the age of 64.
Beloved wife of Melo for 46 wonderful years. Loving mother of Kimberly (Paulo), Ashley (Livio), Lily Ann (Marcio), and John (Isabel). Beloved grandmother to Mariah (Sandeep), Jayden, Zenia, Sienna, and Maddex. Maria will be greatly missed by her sisters Fernanda (Manuel), Elsa (David), Idalina (Antonio), and sister-in-law Maria (Joe). She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews, the ones she helped raise and the ones that live afar.
Maria loved her family, a good meal, and a glass of wine. Travelling and watching bullfights were two of her favourite pastimes. Maria was amazing at entertaining. She told hilarious jokes and always made the best meals. She truly loved spending her time with her family. Her husband Melo was her best friend and soulmate. She is missed greatly, and she was our Queen.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 9, 2024, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. A graveside service will be held on Saturday August 10, 2024, at 11:00am at All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery in Strathroy.
In lieu of flowers and donations, Maria’s family encourages everyone to take their family out to dinner.
