Remembering Maria
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Rose Campbell, 34, of West New Annan. She passed away at home on May 3, 2024.
Maria’s joy and love of life was infectious. She always delighted in the small things, whether it be a cup of coffee, sitting in the sunshine on the porch, or visiting a thrift store or yard sale. She loved listening to music, researching her favourite celebrities, and playing with her many cats. She had an incredible memory for dates and people – if she met you, she remembered you. Even though she faced many health challenges in her young life, she was always determined to keep a positive attitude; her story of perseverance is an inspiration to many.
Her favourite part of the week was attending the VON Programs in Tatamagouche and Truro, especially doing crafts or winning bingo. She has been a faithful member of the Nuttby United Baptist Church since 2001.
Maria will be deeply missed by her parents, Raymond and Dianne (Kaye) Campbell, her sister Robyn (Eugene) and beloved niece Mary, her grandmother Theresa Kaye, Bible Hill, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Roland and Isabel Campbell, and maternal grandfather, John Kaye.
Maria is resting in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche with visiting on Tuesday, May 7 from 6-8pm. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8 at 2pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. For those unable to attend the service, a recording will be made available on this page. Burial will take place in Bell Gift Cemetery, West New Annan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colchester East Hants VON Adult Day Program or Nuttby United Baptist Church.
