It is with great sadness to announce that Odete passed away at her home in Burnaby, BC, in her 75th year.
Odete is predeceased by her much loved Mother and Father and many other loved family members, of which she spoke about often. She constantly phoned her Aunties in Portugal and her beloved cousin Aida in the USA.
Odete was very proud of her Portuguese heritage. She spoke 4 languages which came in handy in so many parts of her life and work.
Her love of Classical Music and Literature sustained her over her life, but especially in her final years after retiring and her health deteriorated rapidly. Odete found such great comfort in her writings and analysis at Spirit of Formation and had a clear and very sharp mind.
We never knew a child, cat or dog that didn’t take to Odete immediately. A sign of a good person for sure.
Odete had many friends who will miss her dearly, we still go to phone and text her to tell her something we knew she would be interested in. Odete was always interested in our family members and knew them by name and all their interests.
You fought the good fight, you finished the race. God Bless you always Odete.
Celebration of Life will be held on June 15th at Noon
