Maria Makohin (April 2, 1924-February 12, 2024) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria on February 12, 2024 at Eatonville Care Centre, in her 100th year. Maria was the loving and devoted wife of the late Petro, and loving and adored mother to Anne Batiuch and Lesia Bogatko. She leaves behind a brother, John Tryluk and sister, Olga Lysyj, in Ohio. She was a very special Baba to Natalie Murchison (Scott) and Melanie Ricker (Jeremy) and a great-grandmother to Alex (Paula), Brad, Abbey, Sarah and Michael. She has many nieces and nephews who will miss her happy, positive personality. Maria had been a very active member of the Women’s League at St Volodymyr Ukrainian Church in Thornhill. She also had many happy years at Ivan Franko Retirement Residence in Mississauga. Maria will be missed by all who have had the pleasure to know her for her kindness and caring nature. A funeral and Panachyda will be held at Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill on Friday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your charity of choice.
